Over the past couple of years, I have been actively involved with Aquatic Facility Design in the design and construction of a community pool renovation project on behalf of The J.S. Mack Foundation.

Danville Area Community Center
The Danville Area Community Center (DACC) has worked with Brent Boyer, President and CEO, Aquatic Facility Design, 183 Moore Street, Millersburg, 17061, on various swimming pool projects during the past fifteen (15) years.
Mr. Boyer is a man of integrity. His years of experience in designing, building and maintaining indoor and outdoor swimming pools recommend him as one of the most experienced aquatics planners/developers in .
Our community center houses an indoor, in-ground, six-lane, heated pool. It is 24 years old and has been “watched over” by Mr. Boyer and his staff for fifteen of those years. Thanks to his professional guidance regarding preventative maintenance and updates, the structure of our DACC pool is as strong today as it was when it was built. This fact was confirmed when borings were taken as part of a pool feasibility study at the DACC. The pool foundation showed no signs of deterioration.
Mr. Boyer’s company completed a Pool Feasibility Study with our organization and the information he compiled was instrumental in the DACC being awarded a DCNR Grant for pool equipment replacement and swimming pool upgrades in the amount of 5300,000. Furthermore, in explaining the need for a very unglamorous project (filtration, heating/cooling/dehumidification), the pool study has been invaluable. We are confident the capital campaign for the pool project will be successful because of the documentation provided to use in the study.
On several occasions, I asked Mr. Boyer if there might be a less expensive way to accomplish what needed to be done. He said you can “do the project” or you can “do the project the right way.” The “right way” has been our choice over and over again. Our pool is seldom down for maintenance and our decisions regarding recommended repairs and replacements have been made in partnership with him. He never dictates, but he does have strong feelings about doing a job correctly.
In today’s world, there aren’t many pool designers or builders in whom you could have absolute trust and confidence. If you select Brent Boyer and Aquatic Facility Design, Inc. for your project, you will have selected a professional with the experience and wisdom needed for swimming pool design. You will also have selected a realist dreamer who understands the need for quality design that features “bells and whistles,” yet acknowledges the limitations of cost.

Bellefonte Borough
This letter is to acknowledge that Aquatics Facility Design, Inc. (AFD) located in Millersburg, performed a feasibility study for the Borough of Bellefonte . The Borough of Bellefonte found the services performed by Aquatics Facility Design to be outstanding. The final report was very well done in addition to being completed on-time and within the budget allocated. The experience of the staff was also a benefit as they worked closely with Borough staff, the Bellefonte YMCA, and others to head off potential problems. The staff at AFD are professional and responsive.

City of Greensburg
In June of 2006 the City of Greensburg contracted with Aquatic Facility Design in Millersburg, to do an assessment on the conditions of our outdoor pool for the Recreation Department.
That document lead to the renovation and rehabilitation of the Veterans’ Memorial Pool in the spring of 2007. The work consisted of installing a PVC liner in our existing concrete main pool and wading/baby pool.
During the installation of the PVC liner Aquatic Facility Design was involved and assisted the successful bidders with our project. They provided consultation, problem solving and general concern for our project. The City was very pleased with the renovation of the pool and quality of service they provided.
